-i just read this and it articulates my feelings about the writing team of anderson and wilson. i told justin that when he watches Life Aquatic, i'd like to watch it with him. i know that i didn't like the movie but part of me secretly (not so anymore) wants to watch it again and realize that i missed something and i'll love it. as i'm typing this, i'm remembering the movie and that there were so moments that i really liked, but they added up to a not so good movie. too much anderson, not enough wilson.
-also on the topic of owen wilson, i read his and Vince Vaughn's interviews in Rolling Stone. the article made me like vaughn more and wilson less. there is something about him - the way he squints his eyes and puckers his lips in photos. it is like he's trying too hard to be sexy, where as vince vaughn just stands there and your clothes just fall from your body.
and on to stuff that actually matters.....
-there is an opening on the day shift. after much thought, i decided i'm going to apply. i'm feeling pretty good about it. one of the techs on the day shift called me at home today to tell me to apply. all i have to do is submit my resume and a cover letter. i'm not sure what to say exactly in the cover letter. i'm applying for the same position i have now, just at a different time. patti (the tech that called me) suggested that i mention i was initially supposed to work afternoons, and that i never wanted to be on midnights. nicely, of course. any suggetions will be appreciated. it's due monday, and i'm not sure how long it will take before i find out. i'm already fantasizing about having every saturday night off. of course getting to detroit by 6 am will suck, but so does leaving detroit at 6 am. i don't mind working midnights except on my days off. i'm either falling asleep when i'm with people or i'm wide awake and alone.
-apartment search is still coming up with nothing i like. basically i'm going to hold out until mid-August and then start looking at cookie cutter apartments.
-upcoming fun things in July/August:
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly in Ann Arbor
wedding in the U.P. (and thus my first visit)
dane cook at meadowbrook

And yes, I'm thinking of buying a new 20gig color 4th-gen iPod. I keep wanting to spend all of my (little amount of) money. It's either this or a new widescreen HD-TV or a new Xbox 360 (when they come out) or a new laptop or a new desktop (I want a Mac but they cost too damn much) or a new/used car or just something (I almost bought all six seasons of Xena). I'm leaning on the iPod because it is the cheapest and quickest and I've also finally justified that I could actually use one sometimes. Plus I can't fuckin' stop listening to Sloan (and I hate it), and maybe if I can actually listen to them all the time maybe I'll get sick of them and my problem will be solved.

i want a Mac too. that won't be happening anytime soon. i'd go with the iPod, or a car. i'm assuming you have a car already though, to get to and from work.
yeah, i'm constantly finding stuff i want to buy. every paycheck i buy a Gilmore Girls season. that's my indulgence. thankfully there are only 3 out. i'm saving money but i should have twice what i have. thankfully my desire to move out is greater than my desire to buy dvds or shoes (my weakness as a female).
let me know if you get an ipod. i'll knit you a cozy!
